Brothers & Sisters

My mother is a big fan of my photography, especially the people photos. She has a wall in the house leading up the stairs with all different type of photos of my sisters, my step-sister, my dog and myself of course. My family is very important to me.

This is the newest addition to the wall. It's a artistic family portrait of my sisters and me.

There were actually 3 photos taken of each of us seperate. I took all three on different days. With a black blanket behind and a white light shining on the side of the face. Then I played around with the contrast and turned it black and white. After I edited the 3 photos, I made a new 12x8 size photo and colored it black and then spliced the 3 pics into it. After about 4 hours and 5 cans of pop later, this is the finished product.

From left to right: Emily, Me (Nick), and Katie.

"Brothers and sisters are as close as hands and feet"

I would like to apoligize to everyone reading this, because I have not put a article up in over a week, as I have been sick and had surgery on Thursday. I do feel much better now and I will now start putting up articles again.

Nick, your photos are fantastic! You'd told me a few times about your work but this is the first I've ever actually seen it. You definitely have an eye for composition and expression. I find your nature and wildlife photos to be really compelling and surprisingly rich in emotion. As well, your best black and white work is truly captivating, really capitalizing on the interplay of shadows and light. Good luck with your photography and with your new booth at the Farmer's Market!
